Lord Normandy off the mark

LORD Normandy opened his account at the second time of asking when winning a ten-furlong restricted novice at Chelmsford on Thursday.

The son of Le Harve, owned by Mike Bringloe, was third on debut at the Essex venue in October and had come forward for a gelding operation and step up in trip.

Given a good ride by Danny Tudhope, Lord Normandy was always well positioned and showed a decent attitude to hold off Prometeo by a length.

Tom said: "Lord Normandy has always shown up well in his work. He is a nice looking horse who should improve for turf and stay up to 1m4f next summer. Hopefully he is up to contesting some of the better handicaps."
