Lightning strikes twice as Rogue Millennium makes 1.65million

THEY say lightning doesn't strike the same place twice but on this occasion it has and the Rogues Gallery have sold their second seven-figure horse in less than eight weeks.

Hot on the heels of Rogue Lightning selling to Wathnan Racing at the Goffs Champions Sale for £1million, Rogue Millennium realised 1.65million guineas at the Tattersalls Sceptre session on Tuesday evening.

The beautiful daughter of Dubawi has been a star for us and for the Rogues and has taken us to places we could only have dreamed of when purchasing her alongside agent Billy Jackson Stops from the Shadwell dispersal at Tattersalls two years ago.

Last season she became our first stakes winner when taking the Lingfield Oaks trial, our first Classic runner in the Oaks at Epsom and finished second behind subsequent Group 1 winner Poptronic in the Hoppings Stakes at Newcastle.

However, we knew she had thrived from three to four and like many by her incredible sire, she had got faster. After three creditable efforts in the spring over 10f she dropped back to a mile to win the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot under a well-timed Danny Tudhope ride. It was the most amazing day and one we shall never forget.

Following this, she chased home champion Tahiyra in Matron Stakes at Leopardstown gaining some valuable Group 1 black type before bringing the curtain down on her 2023 campaign with a gallant fifth in the QEII on Champions Day.

It has been a privilege to have this remarkable filly in our yard and has been a joy watching her train. She has been bought by David Lanigan to race on in Ireland and we wish her every success.

Huge thanks to the Rogues for letting us train her, Carrie Browning who has ridden her beautifully at home and everyone at Kremlin House Stables. The search goes out to find another one now....
