Leonardo Blu and Sea Cookie keep the winners coming
WE ended May and started June with a winner thanks to Leonardo Blu and Sea Cookie both getting off the mark in novice company.
Leonardo Blu made a promising start to his career when second at Doncaster in early May and he stepped up on that effort to win a mile novice at Nottingham on Sunday.
Owned by Jon Collins, Patrick Moorhead and Colin and Jordan Cooley, this son of Kameko was given a good ride by Cieran Fallon, getting up in the dying strides to beat the odds on favourite by a head.
Fallon was also the man steering Sea Cookie to victory in the 6f novice at Newbury on Monday.
In the colours of T Rahman and Bob Gray, Sea Cookie had been second on his two previous racecourse outings and it was great to see him get his head in front following a long layoff.
Tom said :”The three year olds are starting to hit form and it’s great they are winning novices. Hopefully they can be competitive in handicaps going forward.”
