Leger Festival win for Fuel The Jet

FUEL The Jet landed the 7F Nursery at the prestigious St Leger meeting at Doncaster on Thursday.

Owned by Olly Humphrey, the son of Space Blues was too keen when last seen contesting the Acomb Stakes at York but he got firmly back on track with an easy victory under Neil Callan.

Settled towards the rear, he showed a potent turn of foot to hit the front at the two furlong marker before going clear to win by nearly four lengths.

Tom said “He is a colt we have always liked and he won a decent maiden at Newbury back in July. We put a line through his last run at York and he still has some growing up to do. But he has plenty of talent and he if learns to settle, he is an exciting prospect.”
