Friday double keeps the winners coming

FUEL The Jet and Rocking Ends provided the team with an across the card double on Friday.

Ollie Humphrey’s smart juvenile Fuel The Jet stepped up from his promising debut run to win the 7f novice at Newbury in game fashion.

Despite doing plenty wrong under Neil Callan, he knuckled down well in the closing stages to win by half a length.

Later on it was the turn of yard favourite Rocking Ends who was winning the 5f handicap at Newmarket for the third consecutive year.

Ridden by Cieran Fallon, with the application of a visor, victory never looked in doubt and he ran out a ready three-length winner for owner Colin Westley.

Tom said: “The horses are running great and full credit to all the team for having them in good order. Fuel The Jet ran in a very good novice at Thirsk and we felt he had come forward. A mile should be within his compass and he’s an exciting 2yo.

“Rocking Ends is a real legend – we felt he had been going through the motions slightly – the visor has done the trick and he was the winner all the way today.”
