A Glorious week thanks to Witness Stand
WITNESS Stand provided the team with a big-race success when taking the Whispering Angel Handicap at Goodwood on Saturday.
It capped a great week for the team with Invictus Gold and Harvard Sound also winning elsewhere and placed efforts at the Glorious Goodwood meeting from Rocking Ends and Jungle Run.
Owned by the Bronte Collection, Witness Stand was given a perfect ride by Kieran Shoemark who was always close to the pace having been well-drawn in stall three.
With two furlongs to go, Witness Stand was still full of running and Kieran kicked clear to win comfortably by three lengths.
Tom said: "If you put a line through his last run at Chester then he has some smart form including when second in the Horris Hill. He's a smart horse on his day. He's going to be rated quite high after that so it might be back into Stakes company."
The aforementioned Invictus Gold opened his account at the second time of asking under Silvester De Sousa at Southwell for owners Moulton Racing and Tommy Severn. It was a first win for the new syndicate but they didn't have to wait long for another as Harvard Sound won 24 hours later at Lingfield. Owned in partnership with Olly Humprey, the son of Ten Sovereigns was winning a novice under a penalty and looks an exciting prospect.
